Solid State Drive (SSD)

Post by hwh »

Just wondering if anyone have tried to replace the original hard disk in PA2X with a solid state drive (SSD) ? why? SSDs are faster, quieter, and more reliable.

Price is still way too high for the relative storage space.

Oh God come on...thats how far we went? Even SSDs, while even a regular
HD is totally completely useless and a waste of money and weight.
Whats next...Servers into the PA synths? ...lolz...

The Korg-PA-Keys are working and starting completely out of flash-rams.
All resources a are saved in ssd.
Only Midi, mp3- and kar-files may run from the harddisk.
Why should we change the hdd to ssd ?
You may through away yor harddisk, because you can work with usb-sticks. And that are flash`s/ssd`s.
Best regards from germany

Please folks, it was just a question. why all the anger and negativity?
Be careful with statements about wasting money, when you yourself is using the forum to promote your own products.

Hi,

No anger or negativity here :) Just stating a view. Personally I don't think we need one, BUT having said that I did have one on a laptop I had recently, and I was quite "taken" with it's speed and no noise, and lack of heat :)

My point is that at this time the makers are still asking way too much for them, unfairly I think. TO make them a worthwhile alternative.

If they drop down to prices approaching hdd's now, I would seriously consider replacing the hdd in my PA for one :)

There is no anger and negativity at all, its healthy comments and facts,
as for promoting bussines, what does that have to do with wasting money?
And of course i will use the forum the promote products, i deserve, more
then enough...any advertisement is a waste of money? I dont get the logic.
