From the available edit actions in the Slot edit tab, try to use Copy and Paste. These act only on the currently selected slot, and do not alter the position of the other slots.

It offers to assign a CC# for Octave Up and Octave Down on any of the MIDI channels, including the global channel.

Yes, you are right.

For quantisation or overall shifts you have to put the pattern onto a track for editing, and I think there is no other way to do this.

go to the Pattern Edit Tab under Pattern/RPPR, select the pattern you wish to edit, then select Event Edit from the Page Menu
